Korina is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon based at Frimley Park Hospital. Specialising in medical retina, complex cataract surgery, and vitreoretinal procedures, she provides consultant-led care for a wide range of eye conditions.

Clinical expertise & education

Korina's journey in medicine began at the University of Patras in Greece, where she obtained her medical degree. Driven by a passion for ocular science, she moved to London to earn an MSc in Biology of Vision from University College London (UCL), graduating with distinction for research on retinal junction signalling.

Advanced surgical training

Her clinical training was completed across the KSS and South Thames regions, including major London teaching hospitals: King's College Hospital, St Thomas' Hospital, and Moorfields at St George's Hospital.

Following general ophthalmic training, she completed two specialised year-long surgical fellowships:

  • Sussex Eye Hospital (Brighton), recognised with the Trainee Excellence Award.
  • Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the Western Eye Hospital (London).

Consultant appointments

Before her substantive appointment at Frimley Park Hospital, she served as a Locum Consultant at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW). She is frequently sought out for complex retinal and cataract cases.

Personal interests

Outside of the operating theatre, Korina values an active and balanced life. She enjoys cycling and walking, and values time with her young family.
