Pupil dilation is essential for accurate assessment and may cause blurred vision for up to four hours. For this reason, do not drive yourself to the appointment.

Your face-to-face consultation will include:

• Measurement of your vision
• Measurement of eye pressure
• Dilating eye drops to allow a full examination
• A detailed discussion of your symptoms and concerns with Miss Korina Theodoraki
• A comprehensive eye examination, including retinal assessment
• OCT scanning (a non-invasive, high-resolution scan of the retina), if clinically indicated

Please bring your distance glasses to the appointment if you have them.

Yes. You can book an appointment without a referral. Having a referral or a clear indication of the problem helps, as it allows relevant tests to be arranged in advance. In some cases—such as retinal conditions, retinal injections, or laser treatments—assessment and treatment may be carried out during the same visit.

Please bring, if available:

• A referral letter from your GP or optician
• A list of your current medications
• Your reading and distance glasses
• Your spectacle prescription and copies of any relevant test results
